PAIN FIELD

METAL PERSONIFIED

A modern take on West Coast metal with a dash of Detroit steel,  Pain Field brings all the energy and angst of the young in a tempered package.  Even in the ever grey rain soaked gloom of the pacific northwest, Pain Field won’t rust.

With vocals reminiscent of the metal legends,  with a noticeable pedigree in the rhythms, and the technical execution of the guitars, one can only come to the realization that the members of Pain Field are metal personified.

From the non-grunge  area of  Snohomish County in Washington State,  Brian Majors collaborated with  the guitar talents  from Detroit transplant  Steve Campbell and knew they had to recruit Seattle's legendary  drummer Colin Mattson (Forced Entry) giving the band the added power to shake foundations.

Shortly after the release of their first album Blackened Skies (2022) and regional touring, the decision was made to take to the band to greater heights. Pain Field sought out the  inborn bass abilities of Johnny "Plays Bass" Massey, giving the band new dimensions  to explore for more brutal, powerful, groovy and melodic metal.

BRIAN MAJORS

VOCALS

Seattle native Brian Majors, originally trained in choir from the ages of 10 to 12, swiftly redirected his musical trajectory upon discovering hard rock and metal. Influenced by the vocal prowess of Halford, Dio, Dickinson, and Tate, Brian embarked on a transformative journey into the heart of metal. Honing his techniques and carving his own distinct path, he assumed the frontman role for various local bands, engaging in regional tours and opening for touring acts. Now at the helm of Pain Field, Brian unleashes a full spectrum of notes and crushing vocals, poised to captivate and overwhelm the masses with his commanding presence and formidable voice.

Steve Campbell

Guitar

Born and bred in the heart of Detroit Rock City, "Shredding" Steve Campbell made waves in the early 2000s as a founding member of Death Grip before bringing his sonic prowess to the Pacific Northwest in 2007. A globetrotting journey unfolded with Coven 6669, touring Europe alongside icons like Sacred Reich and Riot and sharing stages with the likes of Violence and The Accused in the States. In 2017, Steve's trajectory intertwined with Pain Field, where his Detroit-bred intensity fueled the writing and recording of their debut album, "Blackened Skies," released in early 2022. A relentless force in the metal scene, Shredding Steve Campbell continues to etch his indelible mark, shaping the sonic landscape with his uncompromising guitar prowess.

JOHNNY MASSEY

BASS

Emerging from the misty expanse of the Pacific Northwest, Johnny "Plays Bass" Massey has been a stalwart of the region's music scene for decades, wielding the commanding resonance of Spector basses. Rooted in the low end, Johnny has weathered the storms of numerous Seattle bands, touring regionally and sharing stages with national acts. In a pivotal moment in 2023, he officially became a full-fledged member of Pain Field, infusing the band with his extensive experience in heavy power, thrash, and groove.  To the band, the future will be pure metal.

COLiN MATTSON

DRUMS

A native of Seattle, drummer Colin Mattson embarked on his heavy metal journey during Junior High, becoming a pivotal force in the legendary thrash ensemble Forced Entry.
